Course Overview

In today’s market, 56% of total consumer packaged goods sales growth is driven by products with sustainability claims, yet navigating these standards remains a primary challenge for procurement. As a leader, how do you distinguish genuine environmental and social impact from "greenwashing"? Over five weeks, you will be provided with the blueprint for transforming your procurement department into a driver of corporate sustainability and value-based sourcing. The course is grounded in real-world experience from Dr. Janice Lao, who has spent over 20 years helping global organizations turn complex sustainability standards into everyday practice. Rather than focusing on theory, the course emphasizes action: how to evaluate global certification frameworks, move toward a circular economy, and make purchasing decisions that protect your brand’s reputation.

In an era where "green" is a business imperative, certifications are no longer just a badge—they are your ticket to the front of the shelf. This course empowers you to:

  • Stand Out with Consumers: Bridge the trust gap by backing your claims with globally recognized third-party verification that 72% of shoppers actively look for at checkout.

  • Win Over Retailers: Gain the credentials required to enter elite programs like Amazon’s Climate Pledge Friendly or Target’s Zero, unlocking increased visibility and premium placement.

  • Future-Proof Your Brand: Transform your sustainability efforts from a cost center into a powerful differentiator that drives loyalty and scales your impact.

Whether you are looking to revitalize your brand’s narrative or secure your spot in the global retail landscape, this course provides the tools to turn verified ethics into a measurable commercial advantage.
